Three decades of collaboration: The Hamrin Foundation and Jönköping International Business School's (JIBS) journey towards international success

Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) has received over 200 million SEK from The Hamrin Foundation over almost 30 years. Since 1994, JIBS has focused on external relations and practical relevance. The business school is recognized for its highly ranked research in family business, entrepreneurship and regional development. Its high quality is verified by international accreditations from EQUIS and AACSB, and since 2021 it is ranked among the top 100 business schools in Europe according to the Financial Times.

Research collaborations between 1996-2018

The Hamrin Foundation gave its first grant to JIBS in 1996 to start a research program on family businesses. This led to the establishment of the Center for Family Enterprise and Ownership (CeFEO) in 2005, ranked first in Europe and second in the world. In the 2010s, another research center, the Media Management and Transformation Center (MMTC), was launched, and in 2013 the joint venture between The Hamrin Foundation and JIBS on research communication - Vertikals

Socially beneficial and interdisciplinary research with selected researchers at JIBS 2024

After a six-year hiatus, The Hamrin Foundation resumed funding for socially beneficial research at JIBS. Six projects were granted in economics and business administration, all of which focus on current societal challenges such as digitalization in the public sector, electricity supply and regional development. The research should have strong communicative elements and contribute to finding solutions to the challenges.

In recent years, we have focused on creating a new strategic direction, contributing to new knowledge that influences and leads to change. We see JIBS as an important cog in our journey forward and what the university does and contributes to our region is hugely important,” says Lovisa.
